When I began developing grooming products, I wanted to create something that truly reflected Konavle and the Dalmatian coast — something inspired by the place where Konavle Wolves was born.
My goal was simple: to create a line of grooming products that are gentle on pets, gentle on the people bathing them, and inspired by the natural heritage of Dalmatia.
Another thing I began to notice was what wasn’t on the shelves.
When visiting local stores like Studenac, Konzum, or DM, you can easily find basic pet shampoos from international brands. But I rarely saw products that were locally inspired or made in Croatia, and certainly nothing connected to Konavle.
That made me wonder — why shouldn’t we have pet care products that reflect our own region, our nature, and our craftsmanship?
That idea became the foundation of the Dalmatian Heritage by Konavle Wolves line.
An important part of the idea was also accessibility. While the products are made with quality ingredients, I wanted them to remain affordable for everyday use — priced a little higher than the cheapest international brands, but still accessible to regular pet owners who simply want something better for their dog.
The First Products in the Dalmatian Heritage Line
Our first release included two products designed for regular home grooming:
• SHINE Shampoo – a lightly scented shampoo designed to gently clean the coat while maintaining its natural softness and shine.
• Leave-in Regenerator (bez ispiranja) – a conditioning spray that helps detangle and refresh the coat between washes.
Both products were created with pet owners in mind, making grooming at home easier while keeping the formulas gentle for dogs and the humans caring for them.
Extra Sensitive Shampoo – Bez Parfema
The newest addition to the Dalmatian Heritage line is Extra Sensitive Shampoo – Bez Parfema (šampon za pse za osjetljivu kožu), created especially for dogs with delicate or reactive skin.
While many pet shampoos rely on fragrance to create a “clean” feeling, this formula focuses instead on gentle cleansing and skin comfort.
The shampoo contains soothing ingredients such as:
• Zob (Avena sativa / oat extract) – known for calming sensitive skin
• Neven (Calendula officinalis) – traditionally used for skin care and irritation relief
The formula is pH balanced, fragrance-free, and designed to clean the coat without stripping natural oils. This makes it suitable for:
• sensitive dogs
• puppies
• dogs that require frequent bathing
• both short-haired and long-haired breeds
A Naturally Vegan Formula
When selecting the formula for the Extra Sensitive shampoo, the main goal was to find something that was very gentle on dogs with sensitive skin.
After reviewing many different options, I chose a formula based on mild plant-derived cleansers and soothing botanical extracts, including oat and calendula.
Another nice detail about the final ingredient list is that the formula also happens to be completely vegan, containing no animal-derived ingredients. While this wasn’t the primary goal when selecting the shampoo, it fits well with the overall philosophy of keeping the product simple, gentle, and thoughtful for both pets and the people caring for them.
Why Sensitive Skin Is Common in Dogs Along the Coast
Dogs living along the Adriatic coast often face environmental conditions that can affect their skin and coat.
The combination of sun, sea salt, dust, and seasonal pollen can make some dogs more prone to dryness, irritation, or itching. Dogs that swim frequently in the sea may also experience salt residue on their skin, which can contribute to dryness if not rinsed away properly.
In coastal areas like Konavle and the wider Dubrovnik region, it’s common for dogs to spend a lot of time outdoors — running on rocky terrain, lying in the sun, or exploring fields and paths. While this active lifestyle is wonderful for dogs, it can sometimes lead to more sensitive or reactive skin.
For this reason, many owners look for shampoos that:
• cleanse gently without stripping natural oils
• help calm the skin after outdoor activity
• are suitable for frequent bathing, especially during summer months
Extra Sensitive Shampoo was developed with these needs in mind — a simple, gentle formula designed for everyday dog life along the coast.
Inspired by Konavle
The visual design of the Dalmatian Heritage line is also inspired by traditional Konavle embroidery patterns and the stone landscapes of the region.
The artwork reflects the natural environment that surrounds Konavle Wolves — dry-stone walls, open hillsides, and the wolfdogs that inspired the brand itself.
Every detail of the label is meant to connect the product to the place where the story began.

Right now, the first retail partner carrying the products is Pet Shop Scooby in Dubrovnik.

As the line grows, I hope to bring Dalmatian Heritage to more shops across Croatia.
